Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a bowl.
- Add oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar. Mix until smooth.
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool before frosting.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for a richer red color.
- Do not overmix the batter.
